Prior to working with Path Wellbeing, this client was suffering long-term, low-level inflammation that was driving a host of imbalances and diseases. The client, who was in their mid-40s, experienced an irregular bowel pattern, joint stiffness and pain, regular migraines, high blood pressure, low energy, brain fog, difficulty concentrating and poor sleep. 

The client’s lifestyle was stressed, hurried and anxious. They held a high-powered position in a corporation, where they relied primarily on caffeine and other stimulants to make it through the day and perform well. Lately, their performance at work had been slipping and nothing seemed to help – even getting out of bed in the morning felt strenuous. They rarely took time for self-care outside of some occasional yoga or HIIT class at the gym. Their diet was mostly processed, on-the-go fast food or take out. 

The Plan We Created

After doing a full intake and assessment and understanding the client’s unique needs, one of our practitioners offered this client nutritional and lifestyle support designed for their specific constitution and imbalances.

Because of the client’s state of severe burnout and risk for developing a chronic condition that would be more difficult to reverse, our practitioner encouraged the client to take a period of time off form work to dedicate to much-needed self-care. We also started planning for a deep-tissue detox Ayurvedic cleanse (panchakarma) to root out deep-seated inflammation and to reset the entire system.

nutrition

Prior to starting their deep tissue detox, this client began the process of disconnecting from the behaviors and lifestyle habits that were driving the majority of their symptoms. We slowly switched to cooking nutrient-dense foods at home, alternated with eating out when needed. We evaluated their relationship with caffeine and other stimulants and they began a process of self-discovery around energy sources and energetic sustainability. 

Lifestyle

We also reset their morning routine to support their nervous system and energetic balance – the energy you start the day with is the energy you carry with you throughout. Once the client was able to take some time away from work, we worked on daily routine (dinacharya) practices, meditation, constitutionally-appropriate exercise and self-reflection through journaling. 

Herbs

We introduced a constitutionally-appropriate anti-inflammatory formula and an adaptogenic herbal blend to tonify their entire system. A short-term bowel tonic helped to regulate their elimination pattern and reduce inflammation in the intestinal lining. 

Cleansing

Once the client was ready, we implemented a 2-week custom-designed deep-tissue detox to reset their mind, body and spirit orientation around health and wellbeing.

pain and joint stiffness reduced significantly, they no longer experienced migraines, their bowel pattern completely normalized, sleep improved, concentration, focus and natural energy levels were restored and their blood pressure returned to a normal range. 

In a relatively short period of time, the client reduced the root cause of their symptoms and potential chronic disease and was feeling better in mind, body and spirit. They returned to their high-profile job with a new sense of calm and energy, which they were happy to report allowed them to be more productive at work, less stressed and more capable of creating space in their day for self-care and nourishment. 

The client continues to enjoy seasonal cleansing (Spring & Fall) with Path Wellbeing as an ongoing maintenance practice that allows them to stay connected to their healing journey.
