Prior to working with Path Wellbeing, this 33-year-old female was living with constipation (passing less than one bowel movement daily), anxiety, sleep issues, irregular and painful menses, headaches and fatigue.
After a full intake and assessment, with one of our practitioners, a treatment plan was created to address the root cause of symptoms. For this client, all of the energetic layers of her being needed to be addressed.
It is rare that a client suffers from an imbalances that resides solely in the physical layer, The energetic layers of the body are interdependent and interconnected. The root cause of this client’s symptoms was a lack of self-acceptance, which led her to struggle with boundaries and rather to tend toward people-pleasing and perfectionism.
Her worry, anxiety and overwhelm resulted from always feeling like anything she did, or possibly could do, wasn’t enough. Constipation resulted from holding all of her negative experiences inside. This restricted flow of energy resulted in excess energy circulating through the mind, which also affects sleep issues and contributes to headaches.
As the root of the problem was a lack of self acceptance, the path to healing involves increasing self-awareness and self love.
One of the beautiful things about working with all of the energetic layers of the body is that there are so many tools and approaches to take. A multi-faceted treatment plan can be implemented one small step at a time.
~ A gratitude journal; shifting perspective to what they do HAVE around them and working towards expressing gratitude to self.
~ Alternate nostril breath; rebalancing the air element in the body, balancing left and right hemispheres of the brain, supporting the nervous system and regulating hormones
~ Abhyanga; self massage of warm oil as an act of self-love, practicing before bed fosters deep relaxation and sound sleeps
~ Cooking easily digestible meals – the more stress one is under the easier to digest their meals should be.
~ Intentional meal times; their meal times were variable prior to their treatment plan. We created time and space to connect with their food and themselves throughout the day.
~ Creative exploration; connecting with one’s creative energy is a powerful way to rebalance the energy with in you. It brings you back to yourself.
~ Yoga Nidra; nervous system rejuvenation and sleep support
~ Grounding, soothing and nourishing meals
~ Cooked with healthy oils and moderately spiced
~ General healthy eating guidelines included taking deep breaths before eating, chewing food to an even consistency, and eating in a calm environment
~ Warming culinary spices to balance digestive fire, foster elimination and absorption of nutrients; turmeric, ginger, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove.
~ An herbal mind nasya was specifically formulated for them to support the nervous system and sleep cycles
~ An herbal reproductive tonic formula was created to build the tissues layers of the body and foster regular menses
~ Boundaries were set around cooking and meal times
~ Meal times became a space for them to check in with themselves throughout the day
~ She was able to fall asleep easier and have improved energy levels throughout the day
~ She increased awareness around her inner critic and negative self talk
~ She started prioritizing her rest and recovery times
~ She accepted this journey was not going to be easy and remained committed to herself
~ Her gratitude journal expanded and she was able to connect to herself through mirror affirmations
~ She experienced regular elimination
~ Her menstrual cycle improved
~ She was able to fall asleep easily and staying asleep throughout the night
~ She actually started believing the new narrative of inherent self worth!
~ Her headaches subsided
~ Her energy levels were balanced
~ She had regular, pain-free menses every month
~ Her relationships with loved ones and coworkers improved
