Cinnamon Water

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the cinnamon sticks, and simmer for 10-15 minutes. This method will make your house smell nice. 
  2. If using ground cinnamon, boil the water add the spice to steep for 20 mins.
  3. For both methods, pour the liquid through a tea strainer into a jar or thermos, and sip throughout the day. 

Notes

Taken throughout the day, cinnamon water regulates blood sugar, controls sugar cravings, gives a feeling of satisfaction after meals. 

Dosha Type

Cinnamon is a warming spice with sweet, pungent and bitter flavours. 

It stimulates digestion and pacifies both vata and kapha doshas.
