Rose Cardamom Latte

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, stir together non-dairy milk, cardamom, rose water, vanilla and optional pink food coloring.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve. Froth using an electric frother and serve sprinkled with rose petals.

Notes

Rose soothes the mind, heart and emotions. Its soothing scent, moisturizing oils, and medicinal properties makes it a multi-purpose treasure for uplifting the heart, and the whole body.

The rose enlivens inner beauty, helps the skin to radiate inner glow out to others, and enhances all seven dhatus (body tissues). When used over time, the essence of rose pacifies the heat in the blood. 

Dosha Type

Rose and cardamom are both cooling herbs that balance pitta dosha. 

Rose is sweet, calming and gentle, all of which pacifies vata dosha. Rose is also light and astringent which balances kapha dosha. 

Cardamom is tridoshic. It is wonderful for expelling gas and balancing vata in the digestive region. As a decongestant and bronchodilator, it balances kapha dosha.
