Takras - by Dosha

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add yogurt and water to a blender with desired spices.
  2. Pulse to an even consistency.
  3. Drink on it’s own (outside food).

Notes

Takras are an excellent snack during a cleanse or anytime. Drink 1-2x/day.

Yogurt helps to cleanse the taste buds and enhance taste. It stimulates digestion (especially fresh yogurt, goat’s milk yogurt and probiotic yogurt – greek yogurts and other heavy or highly processed yogurts, including flavored yogurts, tend to diminish the digestive fire and can create bloating and indigestion).

Yogurt supports the absorption of nutrients, lubricates the channels of the body, increases stamina and is a good body-builder. It can also be diuretic.

Avoid combinations with fruit, milk and leafy greens when digestion is weak.

Dosha Type

Takras vary by constitution and imbalance. See annotations above by dosha. If unsure where to start, try the sweet takra first then make your way to spicy – see which gives you greatest balance in digestion!
