Prior to working with Path Wellbeing, this client was coping with a range of menopausal symptoms, including insomnia, vaginal dryness, low energy and heat flashes. She also experienced gut health issues, regular constipation, hemorrhoids and anxiety. 

The client was feeling burned out and no longer felt she had the energy to show up for work or family commitments everyday. At the time of her intake, she was weighing whether to take estrogen as a synthetic hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) but decided she wanted to try Ayurvedic therapies first.

The Plan We Created

full intake and assessment

After doing a full intake and assessment and understanding the client’s unique needs and health history, one of our practitioners offered this client nutrition, lifestyle and herbal remedies designed for their specific constitution to help support their imbalances.

simple dietary changes

The client’s nutrition was already fairly healthy but lacked the qualities to help balance her digestive upset and elimination disorders. These were easily remedied with simple dietary changes that emphasized cool, moist and nourishing elements over cold, light, dry and acidic foods and beverages, which were compromising her gut health and creating uncomfortable elimination patterns.

grounding daily routines

The client also learned the importance of grounding daily routines, which set the stage for the energy carried throughout the day and the energy that allows for restful, restorative sleep.

herbal support

The client needed limited herbal support to help correct her imbalances. What little herbal support she did need was mostly in the form of teas and beverages that help nourish the “waters” of the body (lymph, synovial fluid, plasma, etc.), which in her case – and that of most women entering menopause who do not have abundant water in their natural constitution – had become greatly depleted.

Results & Timeline

Reduce inflammation, acidity, and dryness in digestive tract

Once we were able to reduce the inflammation and acidity (excess fire) and dryness (excess air) in her digestive tract, her elimination pattern normalized, her vaginal dryness subsided and her heat flashes greatly reduced. Consequentially, she and her husband were enjoying more intercourse than they had in years.

New Daily Routine

Her new daily routine, which she practiced with great intention, helped to calm her anxiety, improve her insomnia and boost her energy. She felt more grounded in her meditation practice and, because she felt results so quickly with her Ayurvedic treatment, she felt more committed to her personal healing and wellbeing.
