Fenugreek Tea

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Bring water to a boil. Add fenugreek seeds. 
  2. Cover and let simmer on medium flame for 6-7 minutes. Add crushed cardamom seeds, if using. 
  3. Turn off heat and let it cool slightly. Add lemon juice and honey. 
  4. Sip slowly and enjoy. 

Notes

You can enjoy this tea before meals to enhance digestion or in the morning for cleansing actions. It is especially balancing for kapha dosha in the spring season. 

Fenugreek Seeds (Methi)

Stimulates Agni (digestive fire), aiding digestion and preventing bloating.

Reduces excess mucus and Kapha stagnation.

Helps regulate blood sugar levels and metabolism.

Supports joint lubrication and relieves stiffness.

 

Dosha Type

VK-P+

Vata – Balancing (when taken warm and with honey/jaggery)

Pitta – heating but can be balanced when taken in moderation and with lemon juice and moderate honey

Kapha – Strongly reducing (dry, light, and slightly bitter, which cuts through excess mucus and sluggishness)
