Notes

Notes

This tea is especially supportive in late winter and early spring, when the body begins to thaw and gently release accumulated heaviness. It helps replenish nutrients, encourage circulation, and support steady, balanced energy as the season begins to warm.

Nettle is rich in minerals and traditionally used to support rakta (blood), circulation, and overall vitality. While slightly cooling in nature, it is balanced here with warming spices to support agni (digestive fire) and prevent dampness from lingering.

Ginger and cinnamon gently stimulate digestion and circulation, helping to clear residual Kapha from winter, while cardamom keeps the blend light, aromatic, and free from stagnation.

Lemon balm adds a subtle uplifting and calming quality, supporting the nervous system and easing the seasonal transition — especially helpful for Vata sensitivity during times of change.

Dosha Type

V-/P+ (in excess)/K-

Vata:
The tea is warm, mineral-rich, and gently grounding, supporting Vata during seasonal transitions. Nettle provides nourishment, while the warming spices support circulation and digestive strength, helping to steady and settle the system.

Adjustment: Add a small spoon of ghee for extra nourishment and grounding, and enjoy the tea warm.

Pitta:
Nettle’s cooling nature helps balance Pitta, while the warming spices are kept gentle to avoid excess heat. Lemon balm adds a calming, uplifting quality that supports both the nervous system and emotional balance.

Adjustment: Increase lemon balm and reduce the warming spices, especially ginger and cinnamon. Allow the tea to cool slightly before drinking.

Kapha:
This tea is especially supportive for Kapha in late winter and early spring. Ginger and cinnamon stimulate digestion and circulation, helping to clear heaviness and stagnation, while cardamom keeps the blend light and aromatic. Nettle supports gentle cleansing and renewal without adding excess weight.

Adjustment: Emphasize the warming spices—add extra ginger or a pinch of cinnamon. Use little to no honey.
