Notes

Notes

This Tulsi–Mint–Ginger tea is light, clarifying, and gently warming — ideal for spring, when the body is naturally shifting out of winter stagnation and beginning to move accumulated heaviness.

Tulsi supports the respiratory system and gently uplifts the mind, helping to clear mental fog and emotional dullness. Mint brings a cooling, expansive quality that opens the channels and supports fluid movement through the lymphatic system. Ginger adds a subtle but important warmth, kindling agni/digestive fire and balancing the cooling quality of mint to keep things flowing.

Together, these herbs create a balanced infusion that supports both clearing and circulation.

Lemon, when added at the end once the tea has slightly cooled, enhances digestive stimulation and supports the clearing of ama (metabolic stagnation). It has a light scraping quality that supports liver function and helps move lymph and digestive fluids. Because of its sour and slightly heating nature, it is best used in small amounts and adjusted based on constitution.

Dosha Type

V-/K-/P- (generally balancing; slight variations per dosha)

Vata:
Warming tulsi and ginger soothe Vata. The mint adds a lightness that can feel expansive and foster clarity. When taken warm, this tea supports clarity without increasing dryness or instability.

Adjustment:
Reduce mint if Vata is high or there is anxiety, dryness, or depletion. Add a small pinch of cinnamon or cardamom for deeper grounding and warmth.

Pitta:

Tulsi is pungent and warming, so in excess it can increase Pitta. The mint offers a cooling counterbalance, making this blend generally supportive when heat is not extreme. Ginger should be used in moderation.

Adjustment:
Reduce ginger and keep tulsi moderate if there is active inflammation, irritability, or heat. Increase mint and consider adding coriander seed or rose petals to enhance cooling and soothe excess heat.

Kapha:

Ginger and tulsi support movement, clarity, and mild stimulation, helping to reduce heaviness, stagnation, and respiratory congestion. Mint adds a refreshing quality that helps clear dullness and lethargy.

Adjustment:
Increase ginger and lemon for stronger stimulation and clearing. Add a pinch of black pepper if needed. Keep the infusion light and avoid over-steeping if there is sluggish digestion or congestion.
