
Coffee is hot, light, dry. It carries the elements of fire and air.
Adding a healthy fat to coffee will counteract its dry quality and mitigate its depleting action on the tissues.
Cardamom powder reduces the acidity in coffee supporting pitta dosha.
It is recommended to hydrate first thing in the morning. Have a nourishing breakfast then have 0-1 cups of body-kind coffee. This is more tolerable in the winter months where the cold and wet qualities are increased.
Coffee increases vata and pitta and can decrease kapha dosha.
It is best for kapha dosha in moderate amounts in the winter time. If there is a vata or pitta imbalance it is not recommended to drink coffee.
