COOKING NOTE: DO NOT BOIL CHYAWANPRASH
Chyawanprash is an Ayurvedic herbal jam that boasts massive immune-boosting properties, as well as antacid, antiinflammatory, antioxidant, laxative and overall rejuvenative effects.
Chyawanprash can be take year round and is particularly effective in Vata Season to help build Ojas (strength, vitality and immuniy) and, thereby, stave off seasonal allergies, colds, and disease.
This drink is best enjoyed in the evening, before bed as the warm milk, combined with the tonic herbs in Chyawanprash, help to calm the nervous system and promote restful sleep.
We recommend using Pior Living Chyawanprash for the purest ingredients and highest concentration of amalaki.
Amalaki: amalaki literally means “sour”, but also carries the connotation of “dhatri” or “ultimate healer” in Indian traditions. Its powerhouse healing effects derive from a highly concentrated Vitamin C profile that rivals that of any other fruit or vegetable (20x that of an orange)!
All doshas can enjoy Chyawanprash. Vatas can take a higher dose (2 tsps), while Kaphas can use less (1 tsp). Pittas can take 1 tsp when ojas are strong; when depleted, 2 tsps are best.
