Sweet Potato Spread

Directions

  1. Boil a pot of water, once boiling add the potatoes. 
  2. While the potatoes are boiling, add sesame oil to a pan on medium heat. Roast cumin and a dash of cinnamon, then add few slices of leek and fresh parsley, mix and saute until the parsley’s smell comes out. 
  3. When the potatoes are ready mash them and add to the mixture with the black pepper & salt to taste. Sprinkle it with lemon and add roasted sesame seeds on top.

  4. Serve it with bun, flatbread or pita bread & green salad

Notes

This is a quick and easy recipe for a nourishing dinner in autumn or cold, windy days. 

Sweet potatoes support brain health. They are a nutritive tonic that relaxes the nerves. 

Sweet potatoes are a blood tonic and anti inflammatory. 

Dosha Type

This recipe reduces both vata and pitta doshas. It can increase kapha in excess. 

To balance kapha dosha add some chili flakes and/or black pepper.
